Wasfia Nazreen
Wasfia Nazreen is a trailblazing force of nature who has shattered countless barriers, earning her the esteemed titles of being the first Bengali and the only Bangladeshi to scale K2 and the Seven Summits. While Nazreen’s early years were marked by tragedies, she was blessed from her early adulthood with the friendship and mentorship of HH, the 14th Dalai Lama, whose compassion and guidance altered the entire course of her life. A vocal advocate of human rights and environmental causes since her late teens, Nazreen’s dedication transcends boundaries. As an Expeditions Expert, she leads transformative journeys into nature, forging connections with self, humanity and the Earth, catalyzing positive change for our planet. A mountaineer, writer, educator, pilot and producer, she dons many hats, all anchored in the profound practices of meditation and self-realization. She has the distinct honor of holding the simultaneous titles of National Geographic Explorer and Adventurer. She was the subject of the award-winning short film Wasfia (Mountainfilm 2016).
