Uma Viswanathan
As Executive Director of New Pluralists, Uma leads a funder and field collaborative that is weaving pluralism into the fabric of American culture through storytelling, research, and transformational community practices. She brings 20 years of experience leading, advising, and investing in people and projects dedicated to creating positive social change, including at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Kellogg Foundation. She led an institute developing Bay Area social justice leaders to join strategic boards and commissions, and built a network of 300+ young Haitian leaders to empower their communities with breathwork and permaculture. Uma is a certified meditation teacher with the Art of Living Foundation, and received a BA in psychology and an M.A. in the history of science from Harvard University.
