T.C. Johnstone
T.C. Johnstone is a multi-award-winning documentary film director and producer. He has produced and directed Rising From Ashes (Mountainfilm 2013), a story of Rwanda’s first-ever national cycling team, executive produced by Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker, the film won awards at 19 film festivals. Johnstone’s recent film, In the Dirt (Mountainfilm 2024), has screened in over 50 communities. It follows a group of passionate Native American cyclists, school social workers and community elders who bring the sport of mountain biking to the Navajo Nation. Johnstone and his wife, Kristen, are partners in their company Gratis 7 Productions, consulting filmmakers and nonprofits on impact filmmaking and media strategy.
