Slater Jewell-Kemker
Youngest ever resident of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre Directors Lab, Slater Jewell-Kemker has been making films since she was six. An award-winning filmmaker and climate activist, she has been featured by Forbes twice: once for her 10-year documentary feature on the rise of the global youth climate movement, Youth Unstoppable (Mountainfilm 2019), and another for her short film Still, which explores domestic violence and infatuation. Still premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and was chosen as part of Canada's Top Ten, landing Jewell-Kemker in Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen Canadian Filmmakers as one of 15 filmmakers under 30 to watch. She also directed An Inconvenient Youth (Mountainfilm 2013). She is currently in development on her debut fictional feature.
