Nathan Ward

Nathan was born on the tumbleweed plains of southeast Colorado, a land of rough stock, farmers and ranchers working thin land. One of his favorite things about growing up there was the town library where he found an unending stream of books to transport him out of the flatlands and into the world of adventure and exploration. Since 1994, Nathan has worked as a professional writer, photographer, filmmaker and sustainable tourism consultant in nearly 40 countries. A 2013 Mountainfilm Commitment Grantee, Ward's feature film The Rider & the Wolf premiered at Mountainfilm 2015 and he made the short film El Monociclo en Cuba (Mountainfilm 2020) alongside his son, Kian Ward.
