Lucy Walker
Lucy Walker is an Emmy-winning, twice Oscar-nominated British director whose films have won over 50 awards. An explorer of the human condition, she follows characters, outsiders and castaways on transformative journeys. Her films include Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa (Mountainfilm 2024), How To Change Your Mind, Bring Your Own Brigade (a NYT Best Film 2021), The Lion's Mouth OpensT, The Crash Reel (Mountainfilm 2013), David Hockney In The Now, The Tsunami and the Cherry Blossom (Mountainfilm 2012), Waste Land (Mountainfilm 2010), Countdown to Zero, Blindsight, and Devil's Playground. Walker grew up in London, graduated with top honors from Oxford University before winning a Fulbright to earn her MFA in directing at NYU, and supported herself as a successful DJ.
