Bing Liu
Bing Liu began making skateboard videos as a teenager — a pastime that quickly grew from hobby to lifeline. His documentary Minding the Gap (Mountainfilm 2018), is a heart-wrenching coming of age that follows a pack of skater friends in the gritty and violent city of Rockford, Illinois, as they navigate manhood. The film won both the Audience Choice and Best Documentary Feature awards at Mountainfilm, along with the US Documentary Competition Jury Award for Breakthrough Filmmaking at Sundance Film Festival.
