He is most known for directing Deep in the Heart: A Texas Wildlife Story, The River and The Wall (SXSW 2019 Award winner) and for producing Unbranded (Mountainfilm 2015 Audience Award Winner), which documents his 3,000-mile trip from Mexico to Canada with three friends on wild mustangs adopted from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the controversy concerning wild horses. Masters studied wildlife biology at Texas A&M University and founded Fin and Fur Films in 2012. Since then, he has launched a career in wildlife-based documentary filmmaking with Pronghorn Revival (Mountainfilm 2016), Wild Horse Resolution (Mountainfilm 2016) and Wildlife and the Wall (Mountainfilm 2018), Return of the Desert Bighorn (Mountainfilm 2019) and American Ocelot (Mountainfilm 2021). Masters loves riding a good horse through new country, filming wildlife stories that haven’t been documented before and using movies to help conserve wildlife and wild places.
