Anjali Nayar
Anjali Nayar spends her time bouncing between Nairobi, Kenya and Montreal, Canada working as a multimedia storyteller and technologist. Her most recent film, Oil & Water (Mountainfilm 2020) tells the story of a group of local Kenyan women who rally together to protect their future after their ancestral land is taken for oil extraction. Her film Silas (Mountainfilm 2018) chronicles activists using smartphones to expose land-grabbing and corruption in West Africa and her feature directorial debut, Gun Runners (2015), was acquired by Netflix. Nayar holds a masters degree from Columbia University, the University of Oxford and the International Space University.
