Angel Collinson
A Utahn born and bred, Angel Collinson is a lifelong skier — she grew up in employee housing at Snowbird — who’s now a big-mountain pro. She’s a two-time champion of the Freeskiing World Tour, Freeskier magazine’s 2015 Skier of the Year and winner of Best Female Freeride performance at the International Freeskiing Film Festival, among other awards. She’s featured in the ski films Almost Ablaze, Into the Mind, and Paradise Waits, as well as the TV series “Ultimate Rush.” After 2015’s Powder Awards, where she was the first woman to win Best Line, Outside online credited Collinson with “breaking the ski industry’s bro ceiling.” Over the course of her skiing life, she’s witnessed the effects of climate change on ski resorts and has spoken out against Utah’s weak emissions regulations, worked with the Sierra Club on climate change and clean air projects, and lobbied in D.C. for clean power as a member of Protect Our Winters Rider’s Alliance.
